: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands. Raise and support the vehicle.

Remove the transfer case.

Release the gearshift rod.   Remove the clip.   Remove and discard both O-ring seals.

Remove the selector rod coupling.   Release the clip.   Remove the link pin.

.

Remove the gearshift control shaft seal.   Use the special tool.

.

Install the gearshift control shaft seal.   Clean the component mating faces.   Use the special tool.

.

Install the selector rod coupling.   Install the link pin.   Secure with the clip.

.

Install the gearshift rod.   Clean the components.   Lubricate the components.   Install new O-ring seals.   Install the clip.

.

Install the transfer case.

.

Drain and refill the transmission.
