DEMO VERSION WITH LIMITED FUNCTIONALITY This demo will give you an impression of the functionality of the FlukeView CombiScope software. The only things you can not do with this demo are saving data on a file, making hardcopy output and copy to the clipboard. Note that when a file is saved with an existing filename, the program will delete the existing file and not save data on a new file. When no CombiScope is connected, the program will simulate data transfer with a CombiScope Model PM3394A. Also in this case, the Connect button must be activated in the Instrument Connect dialog box that is displayed after starting the program. In combination with a Fluke CombiScope, FlukeView is the ideal software package for documenting, archiving and analyzing your measurements. The following CombiScopes are supported: - PM3370A - PM3380A - PM3382 - PM3382A - PM3384 - PM3384A - PM3384E - PM3390A - PM3392 - PM3392A - PM3394 - PM3394A connected to the PC via the PM8914 Serial Interface Cable. DUPLICATE FILE FOUND MESSAGE DURING SETUP The Setup program of FlukeView, copies the files MSCOMM.VBX, CMDIALOG.VBX, COMMDLG.DLL, THREED.VBX, VBCTL3D.VBX, and VBRUN300.DLL to the System directory of Windows (e.g., \WINDOWS\SYSTEM). The following message will be given when one of these files is originally present in the Windows directory (e.g., \WINDOWS): "File is already present. If FlukeView can not be started, remove the file " When that is the case, Windows will load the original file, instead of the file that is supplied with FlukeView. Because the original file may not be compatible with the FlukeView software, you must remove the original file from the Windows directory, and run the Setup program again. __________________________________________________________________ 3. KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH FLUKEVIEW COMBISCOPE Please note the following problems you may encounter when using FlukeView CombiScope: a. When a mouse is connected to a COM Port with the same interrupt level as the CombiScope COM Port, the connection to the CombiScope may fail. This can occur when COM1 and COM3 are used, for example. Connect the mouse or the CombiScope to another COM Port or change the interrupt level of a port (refer to the documentation of the PC or serial interface card). b. If, during communication with the CombiScope, the mouse is moved over the border of a window or over the stop button, the following error may error: "Communication error: Overrun error detected." Tip: Select the standard VGA display from the Options - System Settings menu command of the Windows Setup program to overcome this problem. c. The frequencies that are displayed at the X-axis of a Spectrum may overlap each other. d. When the mouse is positioned above a button on the toolbar, the statusbar displays a description text that corresponds with the button. If the mouse is quickly moved away, that text may not disappear. e. When you enter a small number in the Waveform Plot Parameters dialog box, the displayed value may slightly differ from the entered value. This may also occur when the scrollbar is used to move the waveform. Example: When you enter 500 µV, it might be changed to 499.99 µV. f. When the CombiScope is in the Single Trigger mode and no waveform has been acquired yet, the error message "Timeout" is given. g. A low amount of Windows System Resources (memory), can affect the proper working of FlukeView. Pressing F1(=Help), for example, may not start Help anymore. You can determine the amount of System Resources by selecting About Program Manager in the Help menu of the Program Manager. __________________________________________________________________ End of the README.TXT file.
