Subject: RE: Looking for Tek 11302 and 11301 docs From: "Hakan H" Date: Sat, 13 Oct 2007 23:49:17 +0200 To: Walter, It's where you would expect it to be, i.e. on the main processor board. There's also one on the Memory Expansion board which I believe is only present in A models. At least the one on the processor board is in a holder. Cal constants, and there are a few, are contained in both the BBRAM (battery backed-up RAM) and an EEROM. Don't know why it was done like this, maybe a safety thing in case the battery went dead and/or the RAM corrupt. When calibration is done, i.e. new constants are generated they are all stored in the BBRAM. In the very last step of the cal procedures the BBROM is copied to the EEROM. In case of a corrupt BBRAM you should remove the battery and short the holder terminals to clear the RAM, then reinsert the battery and fire up the scope which then loads the BBRAM from the EEROM, all according to the maintenance section of the manual. So it is safe to replace the battery without any data being lost. I would assume that the BBRAM is the normal working memory and the EEROM only for backup.
